Let AI crawlers through your firewall

Your firewall or bot protection is turning away ChatGPT, Perplexity or Claude.

Why it matters

AI assistants can only describe and cite pages their crawlers can fetch. If your CDN blocks them, they answer from what other sites say about you.

How to fix it

  1. Open your CDN or firewall (Cloudflare, Akamai, AWS WAF) and look for bot-blocking rules or a “Block AI bots” switch.
  2. Allow these user agents: OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot, ClaudeBot. You can keep blocking scrapers.
  3. If your CDN verifies bots by IP, make sure the AI providers are on its verified list.
  4. Check your server logs: requests from those user agents should now get HTTP 200.
  5. Run the free check again to confirm.
